ParticipantHello, Ken.
Thank you for inviting me here.
I am an amateur astronomer.
My interest in celestial navigation is practical as well as for the pleasure of the activity.
I am looking g forward to learning from others and hopefully making friends with folks with similar interests.
I have a small collection of sextants and I have enjoyed restoration projects that have come my way.
Thank you again.
With best regards.

ParticipantHowdy, Y’all!
I am just getting started in celestial navigation. I own a Davis Mk 25 and artificial horizon. This is one of what I call my “sub-hobbies” of sailing (similar to knot tying, rope splicing, and spending lots of money).

ParticipantHello Everyone,
Thanks for the invite. Interesting to get in on the ground floor. Im new to the art. I picked up an used Astra IIIB for a great price on ebay a few months back and have been reading and learning. Ive taken several shots now using a bubble horizon. So far Im using an app to do the reductions. Cheating, I know. But its the only way to tell if Im doing it right, and comparing it to GPS position. I need to crack the book again and get my current almanacs and do some real reductions. Anyway, cheers! -
