Thank you for inviting me here.
I am an amateur astronomer.
My interest in celestial navigation is practical as well as for the pleasure of the activity.
I am looking g forward to learning from others and hopefully making friends with folks with similar interests.
I have a small collection of sextants and I have enjoyed restoration projects that have come my way.
Thank you again.
With best regards.

I am just getting started in celestial navigation. I own a Davis Mk 25 and artificial horizon. This is one of what I call my “sub-hobbies” of sailing (similar to knot tying, rope splicing, and spending lots of money).

Thanks for the invite. Interesting to get in on the ground floor. Im new to the art. I picked up an used Astra IIIB for a great price on ebay a few months back and have been reading and learning. Ive taken several shots now using a bubble horizon. So far Im using an app to do the reductions. Cheating, I know. But its the only way to tell if Im doing it right, and comparing it to GPS position. I need to crack the book again and get my current almanacs and do some real reductions. Anyway, cheers!
