ParticipantI find myself tasked with presenting the on-line cinstruction for the US Power Squadron/Candian Power Squadron (USPS/CPS-ECP) Boating 6 / Junior Navigation course in 2021 March. I have every confidence that I can guide the class through site reduction, plotting and the more theoretical aspects of the course, but I ponder how I might share that sense of awe when taking up a sextant for the first time, and wrestling the sun and the horizon into the same view with just the right sun shades, then dumbfounded to discover that the sun was moving while you watched it, and that you must rock the sextant to just tickle the horizon with the image of the sun.
I’ve been impressed with the sophistication and reality of ship simulators and flight simulators. My question, Gentle Readers, has anyone encountered a Sextant simulator?
